Battle Event

Choose the Battle Event when you are ready to attack (and hopefully obliterate) your opponent.

While you don't get to conquer new zones, all your face-up creatures get the additional Strike action into their Action Pool. That means they can attack your opponent's creature zones, potentially fighting other creatures or hitting your opponent for 1 HP.

Strike Action

When a creature performs a Strike action, it can target a creature zone (typically your opponent's), regardless of whether it's conquered or not. Depending if it has a creature, or if your opponent choses to actively block with one of their creatures, a fight may happen.

In a fight, both creatures deal damage to each other simultaneously equal to their Might. If a creature sustains damage equal to or greater than its Life, it is destroyed and sent to the graveyard. Damage is not cleared automatically, but can be healed through various effects.

If there are no blockers, you are in luck! Your creature will strike directly at your opponent, hitting them for 1 HP. If your opponent's HP drops to 0, you win the game. That means you only have to Strike them 6 times to win - but it can be harder than you think to find an opening.

We will see more about the Strike action, how blocking works, and the Action Pool later.

Note: while Summoning can typically only be done during the Deployment Phase, there is no "summoning sickness" in Dimensional Rift. If, via an effect such as Transform or Conscript, a new creature is summoned during an Event, it can perform its action during that event.
