Counter

A Counter is a type of effect that can be used on the Ritual Step.

Counters must be used in response to activation of Hex or other Counter effects, specified by the effect description.

You do not necessarily need to discard a card to activate its Counter effect, unless specified by the effect description.

Counters will typically negate, cancel, reflect or re-target other effects.
