Other Locations

Besides the zones on the battlefield, there are a few other key locations where cards can be during the game. Each player has one instance of each of the following piles:

Main Deck

Non-Fabled cards start here. This is a face-down pile of cards in which order is relevant, and is a secret to all players. Cards are drawn from the top of this pile.

Fables Deck

Fabled cards start here. This is a face-down pile of cards with no relevant order. Each player can consult their own Fables Deck at any time (but not the opponent's). Usually, Creature Token cards are kept here (though they are not considered part of any deck).

Graveyard

Cards go here when they are Destroyed or Discarded. This is a face-up discard pile of cards with no relevant order (but usually new cards are added to the top). Once a card hits a Graveyard, it is gone forever - there is no recursion or graveyard interaction.

Hand

Players draw cards into their hands. Normally, you hold your hand in your hands, facing yourself so you can see what they are while your opponent can only see their non-descriptive backs.
