Card Lifecycle
In order to prevent infinite loops and other broken shenanigans, DimRift observes a strict card lifecycle. While effects have full reign within these guidelines, rarely, if ever, they should be violated.
These are the game actions that are part of the diagram and represent the movement of a card from one place to another:
- Draw: pick the top card from your main deck and add it to your hand. Do not reveal it to the opponent.
- Play: put a card from your hand or extra-deck into the battlefield; can mean either Summon or Set.
- Summon: play a card from your hand or extra-deck face-up the battlefield; or Flip a face-down card.
- Set: play a card from your hand face-down onto the battlefield. Must be a Creature or Artifact card.
- Flip: turn a face-down card currently on the battlefield face-up, thereby summoning it.
- Destroy: send a card from the battlefield to the graveyard.
- Discard: send a card from your hand to the graveyard.
